it's almost like lowering the store's take can lead to stuff like this ...Conclusion of the Fair Price Package program
GOG is ending the fair price package, makes sense after the news from yesterday.
Is that supposed to imply egs is killing gog? with the whole higher dev revenue share thing?https://kotaku.com/facing-financial-pressures-gog-quietly-lays-off-at-lea-1832879826
I hope this rumour mill isn't true. I find it a little curious that there was only a single source on this and no corroborating statement from other staffers who were laid off.
I have plenty of games in my GOG account and I would hate it to see it go away.
Unfortunate, as I found a nice pro consumer move.it's almost like lowering the store's take can lead to stuff like this ...
personally i was betting on a few of the key stores going under firstShow of hands
Who guessed the first victim of egs would be gog?
Probably indrectly. They don't really compete. GoG has it's specialty. Is that supposed to imply egs is killing gog? with the whole higher dev revenue share thing?
i really hope gog doesn't die.
This seems so obvious in hind sight. GoG has way higher costs than regular CD key sites.Show of hands

it's almost like whatever Tim and Sergey have been peddling for the past few years is complete bullshit .... who woulda thunkBUT They're just forcing GoG to cut costs. GoG doesn't have size that allows them not to respond to EGS 12% cut. (unlike Steam).
If GoGs almost at red with 30%, that can't be good.
thanks, epic ... you truly are saving PC gaming right now ...I'm hoping this doesn't spell the end of GOG.
Sadly, if the EGS takes off, I have no doubts this would only be the beginning, and more stores will follow. Considering the revenue split they are proposing, there's no way places like Humble, Green Man Gaming, 2Game, Voidu, Fanatical, Gamesplanet, and more, can continue to operate. There's simply not enough money to be made for these retailers, with such a tight margin.
It's pretty clear what Epic is trying to do: force out as many competitors as they can, by selling with barely any profit, or at a loss, so that when they are properly established, and many of these stores close, they can increase their portion of the revenue split.
I have no doubts what EGS is doing isn't going to affect Steam as much as some expect to (or even Uplay and Origin, for example), but for smaller services and retailers, it's a disaster.
And, this would be bad for consumers as well. Steam is my platform of choice, no doubt. But, the truth is outside of sales, and games that are only sold on Steam, pretty much all my games are bought elsewhere, be it Voidu, GMG, Humble, and others, or even directly from developers.
They do have restrictions, they're exclusive to Epic Store as far as I can tell. I've not seen Epic exclusives sold elsewhere except for Metro Exodus which had done the deals before the switch and they had to honor them. Same for boxed copies. Can't find anywhere else to buy Ashen, Close to the Sun, Hades...Yeah keysite is probably the year 2 arc of the egs, they need to dry the big release well to start seeing a shortage of keys.
I assume this first epic exclusives don't have restriction in their key generation.
It may seem exaggerated, but that's basically it.Epic was indeed aiming for competition. To destroy it
Epic currently has the same attitude as 90s Microsoft, which is honestly hilarious since Sweeney kept talking about how Microsoft was 100% absolutely for sure going to try and kill Steam. (Which is funny for a variety of reasons, but that's likely a discussion for another day)It may seem exaggerated, but that's basically it.
Epic are in such healthy financial position, they can afford to essentially crush the smaller competition, in order to obtain a certain market share.
Already all out.

I've been bringing this point up whenever someone says "but a smaller cut will mean cheaper games for consumers'".I'm hoping this doesn't spell the end of GOG.

Enjoy!Anyways, I'll be playing some Luna Nights finally
Same exact thing renamed. It's passable and with the FAR patch from SpecialK arguably the best version of the game.Any comments on How is Buy NieR:Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition? Is it fixed or still
Haha, yeah. Weird. Would have considered it if it was the full game, as I have all the others except the VR stuff and Amnesia. Though then I checked isthereanydeal and 4 Goddesses was already cheaper than the BTA a month ago ¯\_(ツ)_/¯lol 4 goddessess is only the dlc???
I'm pretty sure it doesn't, or if it does my 18 year old self was unable to find themJust started to play the very first Assassins Creed game. I barely hear anything they say, and I cannot find an option to enable subtitles. Doesn't the game have subtitles at all?
That's crap, the voice sound level is maxed but still can't hear much. So I guess I just play for the gameplay not the story.I'm pretty sure it doesn't, or if it does my 18 year old self was unable to find them
When adding a game's executable to a nvidia inspector profile, when selecting the executable, there's an option to use the full path instead of just the executable name, so it's possible to differentiate between games that have the same exe name.Tsk seems Frogwares named ALL the .exe of their Sherlock Holmes games as 'game.exe' I managed to set up nvidia inspecto onto Sherlock vs. Jack the Ripper but I'm concrned the settings are affecting the other games. As such I'm just gonna finish it up first then move onto the next game and so on.
I played it at release. The destruction tech is nice, and the way the game works is interesting. I had frequent framerate drops and other tech issues, sadly. Still, for that price it's a good deal.Fictorum, an action RPG, is today's deal of the day on Chrono.gg - One game. One amazing deal. Every day at 9AM Pacific..
Has anyone played it? I'm not familiar with the game.
It doesn't look too bad, and it has destructible terrain/buildings.
Ooooh thanka for that. I feel silly for not trying to do it like that xoWhen adding a game's executable to a nvidia inspector profile, when selecting the executable, there's an option to use the full path instead of just the executable name, so it's possible to differentiate between games that have the same exe name.
EDIT: Adding picture to make it clearer:
I tried searching but found nada. Would appreciate someone linking to it tho.i'm sure they are ... they didn't delete anything on gaf ... so you'd have to just search for it
Thanks for the feedback.I played it at release. The destruction tech is nice, and the way the game works is interesting. I had frequent framerate drops and other tech issues, sadly. Still, for that price it's a good deal.
